OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Devils Lake State Recreation Area, a 680 acre park, is the main recreational area in Lincoln City. The park offers walking trails, fishing,
boating, kayaking, sailing, biking trails and picnic facilities. Access to the area is from either the north or the south along East and West
Devils Lake Road which connect with HIGHWAY 101 and form a circuit route around the lake.
Roads End State Recreation Site is located 1 mile north of the Liberty Inn along North Logan Road. The site offers picnic facilities and an
opportunity to view local wildlife. To the north, a relaxing 1 mile walk along the beach brings you to the Salmon River headland and its
picturesque rock formations. The main trail heads south along the beach for 6 miles. Both sections are included in the Oregon Coast Trail
that extends from the Washington to the California borders.
Cascade Head Scenic Research Area, located approximately 5 miles north of Lincoln City near the mouth of the Salmon River, offers opportunities
to view local wildlife and provides you with a choice of hiking trails - the Nature Conservancy Trail, Hart's Cove Trail and Cascade Head Trail.
The trailhead to the Cascade Head Trail is located approximately 2 miles west of the junction of Three Rocks Road and HIGHWAY 101, 1 mile north
of the intersection of HIGHWAY 101 and HIGHWAY 18. The trailheads to the Nature Conservancy Trail and Hart's Cove Trail are located at the 1 mile
marker and 4 mile marker along Forest Service Road 1861, 3.3 miles north of the intersection of HIGHWAY 101 and HIGHWAY 18. |
